Kyle Lagunas has spent the past three years studying how AI performs inside real talent acquisition teams. His research includes a survey of more than 350 senior HR and talent leaders, a head-to-head evaluation of 12 AI interviewing platforms, and an in-depth look at the rise of candidate fraud.

In this session, Kyle will share the findings that matter most to recruiting leaders. He will break down where AI is delivering measurable value, where tools are falling short, and what organizations should consider before making their next investment.

Kyle will also examine what his testing revealed about AI interviewers, how candidate fraud has become a growing security concern, and why the teams seeing the strongest results are not necessarily the ones using the most technology.

The findings all point to one place. Once you see what AI is actually delivering, you’re left with a bigger question, the one anchoring year two of the Human-Centric AI Council’s agenda: in the age of AI, what is human? Kyle closes the session there: which recruiter capabilities gain value as execution gets automated, and how leading teams are redesigning roles around them.

Attendees will learn:

  • Where AI is delivering real value in sourcing, screening, scheduling, and candidate communication, based on feedback from more than 350 HR and talent leaders
  • What worked, what failed, and what stood out in a head-to-head evaluation of 12 AI interviewing platforms
  • How candidate fraud has evolved into a broader security concern and which teams should be responsible for addressing it
  • Why successful talent acquisition teams focus on clear use cases and strong execution rather than adding more tools
  • Where AI-forward teams are drawing the human line: the capabilities rising in value as execution gets automated (judgment, relationships, orchestration, stakeholder trust) and how to reshape roles before the market forces it.

This session opens a conversation that continues at the ERE Recruiting Innovation Summit, November 9 to 11 in San Diego, where Kyle delivers the opening keynote and hosts the invitation-only RIS Executive Forum.
