There is too much stress in the workplace which I think is key in disengagement. Why be engaged in something that causes suffering? Sure work is going to be stressful at times, but now I feel like a boss is extra hard on his or her employees because they are extra stressed. I am fortunate enough to work at a place where the stress level is veryyyy low almost non-existent and I love being a part of the team and enjoy my time while I’m working; I am definitely engaged. The pay isn’t excessive or anything, but less stress is key to my loyalty and commitment.

I have not experienced this alot in the jobs I have held over the past years. All of my managers have been active in making sure we are having a good experience, and still working diligently. I have, however, experienced numerous co-workers who could care less for their job. But I was under the impression this was something of a normal occurrence.

I have had experiences with managers not engaging their employees. This results in employees looking for outside opportunities and not caring about the company in the end. A lot of managers do not know how to treat their employees causing them to have stress and low performance in the workplace. I have been with my company for 4 years and the less stress my boss creates the better it is to focus on the job tasks I have.
